Migration Guide for Agencies
Part of the JivoChat migration guide
How agencies managing multiple clients can migrate from JivoChat to a more cost-effective platform.
Agency Migration from JivoChat
Agencies managing support for multiple clients on JivoChat face per-agent billing multiplied across every client account. JivoChat allows one admin to manage multiple website channels under a single account, but each agent added increases costs across the board — making the per-seat model progressively more expensive as client rosters grow.
Per-Agent Cost Across Clients
JivoChat allows you to add multiple website channels under one account, meaning you can manage several client websites from a single agent dashboard. However, each agent slot costs per month regardless of how many channels they handle. An agency with 8 agents on Professional with WhatsApp: ($42 × 8) + $25 = $361/month. On Basic: $28 × 8 = $224/month. Adding a new agent for a new client increases the total bill for every existing month going forward.
Multi-Channel Account Structure
JivoChat lets you add multiple "channels" (websites) under one account and assign agents to specific channels. This means agents who handle multiple clients can see conversations from all their assigned channels in one Contact Center view. However, there's no white-labeling on any standard plan — the JivoChat branding appears on all client widgets. If clients need unbranded chat widgets, this is a limitation that JivoChat doesn't address outside of custom Enterprise arrangements.
Client-by-Client Migration Strategy
Migrate one client at a time to minimize risk. For each client: export their contacts from JivoChat's CRM (CRMClientsDownload clients, filter by tags if you've tagged clients per customer). Swap the chat widget on their website (remove JivoChat's snippet or plugin, install the new one). Reconnect their specific messaging channels (Telegram, Messenger, WhatsApp). Recreate their Quick Phrases as Quick Replies. Keep JivoChat active for that client's channels for 1-2 weeks of parallel operation before fully disconnecting.
CRM and Deals Pipeline per Client
If you use JivoChat's CRM deals pipeline to track client-specific sales processes, export all deals before migrating (CRMDealsExport deals). JivoChat's pipeline is shared across the entire account — there's no per-client pipeline separation. On a platform that uses per-company workspaces, each client gets their own isolated environment with separate conversations, contacts, and settings.
Cost Impact for Agencies
An agency with 8 agents managing 4 clients on JivoChat Professional + WhatsApp: $361/month ($4,332/year). The same setup on a $49/month-per-company flat-rate platform: $196/month ($49 × 4 companies) — saving $1,980/year. The savings grow as you add both agents and clients: 12 agents with 6 clients would cost $529/month on JivoChat vs $294/month ($49 × 6), saving $2,820/year. Per-company flat-rate pricing keeps costs tied to client count, not headcount.
Note: When migrating, each client should be set up as a separate company/workspace on your new platform with its own channels and team members. This gives cleaner data separation than JivoChat's shared-account model where all clients' conversations mix in one Contact Center view.
