Export Your Data

Learn how to export your customer data, conversation history, and contacts from JivoChat before migrating to a new platform.

How to Export Your Data from JivoChat

JivoChat provides separate export tools for contacts, conversation history, and CRM deals. Contact and deal exports require a Professional or Enterprise plan (labeled "VIP/PRO" in JivoChat's interface). The Free plan's 2-month chat history limit means you should export before that data disappears.

Export Client Contacts (CSV/Excel)

Open the JivoChat web app at app.jivosite.com or your desktop app. Navigate to CRM → Clients → Download clients and select your preferred file format: Excel or CSV. You can optionally use the Apply filters button to narrow the export by date, channel, or other criteria. JivoChat processes the export in the background — wait for the "Download" button to appear, which may take a few minutes depending on your contact list size. The exported file includes names, email addresses, phone numbers, tags, assigned agents, and custom fields. This feature requires the Professional plan or higher.

Export Conversation History (HTML/JSON)

Go to the Contact Center section, click the "All" tab, and use filters to select the conversations you want to export. Click the "Export chats" button. In the export window, choose your format: HTML (human-readable) or JSON (machine-parseable). You can select which fields to include — defaults are client ID, name, communication channel, number of requests, start date, response speed, duration, rating, and link to the dialog. Additional fields are available. Click "Start export" and wait — the download link will be delivered via JivoBot in the Team section of your app. Large exports can take several minutes to generate. This feature requires the Professional or Enterprise plan.

Export CRM Deals (CSV/Excel)

If you use JivoChat's built-in CRM with pipeline management, export your deals separately. Navigate to CRM → Deals and click "Export deals" in the upper right corner. Choose CSV or Excel format. The export includes deal names, values, pipeline stages, assigned operators, and comments. Processing time depends on deal volume — it can range from 1 minute to 30 minutes. You can filter by pipeline stage before exporting to speed things up.

Document Quick Phrases and Automations

JivoChat's Quick Phrases (canned responses) cannot be exported in bulk. Each phrase has an optional tag shortcut (e.g., /prices) and a hotkey assignment. Open the Quick Phrases panel from any chat window, click the pencil icon on each phrase, and copy the content manually. Also document your proactive invitation triggers, auto-response templates, and any chat routing rules (Enterprise only) so you can recreate them on your new platform.

Free Plan Limitation

The Free plan retains only 2 months of chat history. If you're on the Free plan and haven't upgraded, conversations older than 2 months are already gone. Upgrade to Professional temporarily if you need to export historical data before it expires — or accept that only the most recent 2 months of conversations are available.

Tip: Note which integrations are active in your JivoChat account (Shopify, WooCommerce, CRM connections, telephony numbers) and their configurations. Channel connections don't transfer between platforms — you'll reconnect them directly on your new platform.
