Complete guide to migrating all your messaging channels (WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, etc.) from JivoChat.

Migrating All Channels from JivoChat

JivoChat supports website live chat, Telegram, Facebook Messenger, Instagram DMs, Viber, and email on lower-tier plans. WhatsApp, telephony, and chatbots require the Professional plan ($42/agent/mo). Chat routing rules are Enterprise-only. JivoChat does not support Discord or Zalo on any plan.

Website Chat Widget

JivoChat's widget is embedded via a JavaScript snippet containing your unique widget_id, or through platform-specific plugins for Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress, Wix, and others. To migrate: remove the JivoChat widget code from your site. For Shopify, uninstall the JivoChat app from your Shopify admin. For WordPress, deactivate the JivoChat plugin. For WooCommerce, remove the JivoChat extension. For other platforms, delete the <script> tag containing the JivoChat widget code from your HTML. You can find your widget code in Manage → Channels → your website channel. Then install your new platform's chat widget.

Telegram

JivoChat's Telegram integration (available on the Free plan) uses a standard bot token from BotFather. To migrate: disconnect the bot from JivoChat through Manage → Channels, then reuse the same bot token on your new platform, or create a new bot. Only one platform can use a bot token at a time — disconnect from JivoChat before connecting elsewhere. If you need to update the token, JivoChat provides a guide under Settings → Telegram Token.

Facebook Messenger and Instagram DMs

Messenger and Instagram connect through Meta OAuth. Disconnect from JivoChat via Manage → Channels, then reconnect the same Facebook pages and Instagram accounts to your new platform. Page followers, verification status, and settings remain intact — they're tied to your Meta Business account. Each reconnection takes 2-3 minutes. Note that Instagram integration in JivoChat requires connecting through your Facebook page.

Viber

JivoChat supports Viber public accounts (available on the Free plan). Viber integration uses a Viber public account token created through the Viber Admin Panel. Disconnect from JivoChat and reconnect the same token to your new platform — if your new platform supports Viber. Note that not all customer messaging platforms support Viber natively.

WhatsApp and Email

See the dedicated WhatsApp migration guide and email migration guide for step-by-step instructions on these channels, which require more involved migration processes.

Channels JivoChat Doesn't Support

JivoChat has no native support for Discord or Zalo on any plan. If your customers use these platforms, switching to a platform with native support opens new channels without workarounds. Discord connects via a bot token (2 minutes to set up), and Zalo via OAuth — these are net-new channels you gain by switching, not channels you need to migrate.

Migration order: Start with your lowest-volume channel. Migrate the website widget and Telegram first (quick, low risk). Save WhatsApp for last — it has the most involved disconnection process and carries the highest impact if something goes wrong.
