Migrate All Messaging Channels
Part of the Hiver migration guide
Complete guide to migrating all your messaging channels (WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, etc.) from Hiver.
Migrating All Channels from Hiver
Hiver supports a focused set of channels: Email (Gmail/Outlook native), Live Chat (website widget), WhatsApp (Pro plan and above), and Voice via Aircall integration (Pro+). It does not natively support Telegram, Discord, Zalo, Facebook Messenger, or Instagram DMs as inbox channels. Migrating from Hiver is partly about reconnecting what you have and partly about gaining channels Hiver doesn't offer.
Email (Gmail/Outlook Native)
Hiver's email integration works as a browser extension layered on Gmail or Outlook — not through forwarding or SMTP. To migrate: disable the Hiver extension for your team and connect your email accounts to your new platform. If your new platform uses Gmail service account integration, connect the same Google Workspace accounts. If it uses forwarding-based routing, set up email forwarding from Gmail to your new platform's inbound address. See the email migration guide for detailed steps.
Live Chat Widget
Hiver's live chat widget is embedded on your website via a JavaScript snippet. To migrate: remove the Hiver chat widget code from your website's HTML (look for the Hiver script tag in your site's header or footer). If you installed it through a CMS plugin or tag manager, disable it there instead. Then install your new platform's chat widget using their equivalent method — script tag, Google Tag Manager, or native CMS plugins.
WhatsApp (Pro Plan Only)
WhatsApp is only available on Hiver's Pro plan ($65/user/month annual) and above. If you're using it, disconnect from Hiver's settings and reconnect to your new platform using Meta's WhatsApp OAuth flow. Your verified business number and templates carry over. See the WhatsApp migration guide for the full process.
Voice (Aircall Integration)
Hiver's voice channel works through a native Aircall integration (Pro plan+). If you're using Aircall with Hiver, note that Aircall is a separate service — you can continue using Aircall independently or integrate it with your new platform if they support it. Your Aircall account, phone numbers, and call history are not tied to Hiver.
Knowledge Base
Hiver's Knowledge Base (available on all plans including Free) hosts help articles for customer self-service. There's no bulk export feature for knowledge base articles. Copy article content manually or use Hiver's API if available. Repurpose this content as FAQ entries in your new platform's chat widget or as a separate documentation site.
Channels You Gain by Switching
Hiver doesn't offer native inbox support for Telegram, Discord, Zalo, Facebook Messenger, or Instagram DMs. These aren't channels you need to migrate — they're net-new channels you gain. Telegram connects via bot token (2 minutes), Discord via bot token + app ID, Messenger and Instagram via Meta OAuth, and Zalo via OAuth with PKCE flow. If your customers use any of these platforms, switching from Hiver opens communication channels that weren't previously available.
Migration order: Start with the live chat widget (lowest risk, instant swap). Then handle email routing. Save WhatsApp for last since it has the most involved disconnect/reconnect process. New channels (Telegram, Discord, Messenger, Instagram, Zalo) can be added anytime after your new platform is set up — there's nothing to migrate from Hiver for these.
