Step-by-step guide to moving your WhatsApp Business conversations and contacts from Missive to a new platform.

Moving WhatsApp from Missive to Converge

Missive supports WhatsApp Business API integration through the Meta Cloud API. Your WhatsApp Business number and verified status are tied to your Meta Business account, not to Missive, so switching platforms doesn't affect your WhatsApp identity.

Step 1: Understand Your Missive WhatsApp Setup

In Missive, WhatsApp is connected through the Meta Cloud API with embedded signup. Your WhatsApp Business number, display name, and business verification all live in your Meta Business Suite at business.facebook.com. Log in there to confirm your phone number and WABA (WhatsApp Business Account) ID before making changes.

Step 2: Disconnect WhatsApp from Missive

In Missive, go to your organization settings and remove the WhatsApp integration. This unlinks Missive's webhook subscriptions from your WhatsApp number. Your number, verified business status, and message templates remain intact in Meta Business Suite.

Step 3: Connect to Converge

In Converge, navigate to the WhatsApp integration and use the OAuth flow to connect your existing WhatsApp Business number. Converge registers its own webhook endpoints with Meta. The connection takes about 5 minutes, and your verified status carries over automatically.

Step 4: Recreate Templates and Rules

Your WhatsApp message templates live in Meta Business Suite and remain available regardless of which platform you connect. In Converge, set up your auto-reply rules and quick replies to match the canned responses and rules you had in Missive.

Important: WhatsApp in Converge is reply-only (you respond to customer-initiated conversations). If you were using Missive to send outbound WhatsApp template messages, note this difference. Plan the switchover during low-traffic hours to minimize the brief gap between disconnecting from Missive and connecting to Converge.
