Migrate All Messaging Channels
Part of the Missive migration guide
Complete guide to migrating all your messaging channels (WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, etc.) from Missive.
Migrating All Channels from Missive
Missive supports email (Gmail, O365, IMAP), SMS, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and its own Live Chat widget. Converge supports WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, Instagram, Discord, Zalo, Gmail, custom email, and its own embeddable chat widget — giving you more messaging channels but a different approach to email.
All three channels connect through Meta's APIs. Disconnect each from Missive (in organization settings), then reconnect in Converge using OAuth. Your Meta Business accounts, verified status, and page connections remain intact. Instagram and Messenger connect through the same Facebook page authorization. Each reconnection takes 2–5 minutes.
SMS
Missive supports SMS natively within its platform. Converge does not currently offer native SMS as a channel. If SMS is critical to your workflow, you may need to handle it through a separate tool or evaluate whether your SMS conversations can migrate to WhatsApp or another messaging channel.
Live Chat Widget → Converge Widget
Replace Missive's live chat widget embed code with Converge's widget script tag on your website. Converge's widget adds capabilities Missive's live chat lacks: visitor tracking with beacon data, lead capture before conversations start, FAQ self-service, CSAT feedback collection, and UTM parameter tracking. Installation options include script tag, Google Tag Manager, and native plugins for Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, WooCommerce, and BigCommerce.
New Channels Available
Switching to Converge opens up channels Missive does not support: Telegram (bot token, instant setup), Discord (bot token + app ID), and Zalo (OAuth with PKCE, essential for Southeast Asian markets). If your customers use any of these platforms, the migration is an opportunity to expand your channel coverage.
Migration Order
Start with your lowest-volume channel to verify the setup. Move WhatsApp and Messenger last since they typically carry the highest traffic. Keep Missive active for existing conversations while routing new ones through Converge during the transition period.
