Train Your Team on the New Platform
Part of the Missive migration guide
How to train your support team when switching from Missive, including onboarding timelines and best practices.
Training Your Team After Switching from Missive
Missive and Converge share some core concepts but differ significantly in approach. Missive is an email client with collaboration features layered on top. Converge is a purpose-built customer support inbox.
Concept Mapping: Missive → Converge
Team Inboxes → Converge's unified inbox (all channels in one view)
Labels → Tags (with color coding and tag groups)
Canned Responses → Quick Replies (with variable support)
Rules & Automations → Auto-Reply rules + Auto-Routing
Team Spaces → Channel-based organization (each platform is a channel)
Assign & Watch → Customer assignment to specific agents
Workload Balancing → Auto-routing (round-robin or load-balanced)
Internal Threads → Customer Notes (internal, visible to team only)
Chatrooms → Team Chat (internal messaging between employees)
Day 1: Core Navigation (30 min)
Walk your team through the Converge inbox. Unlike Missive's email-client layout with folders and labels, Converge uses a customer-centric view with conversation status (open/resolved/closed). Show how messages from all channels appear together, how to filter by platform, and how to change conversation status.
Day 1: Key Workflow Differences (30 min)
In Missive, your team collaborated through shared drafts and @mentions in internal threads. In Converge, collaboration happens through customer notes (internal comments per customer), customer assignment, and team chat. Show how AI reply suggestions generate context-aware responses — a feature that replaces some of Missive's manual draft collaboration.
Day 2: Advanced Features (30 min)
Cover auto-routing setup, SLA policies (per-priority response and resolution targets), CSAT surveys, and the widget analytics dashboard. Your team familiar with Missive's rules will find Converge's auto-reply rules and auto-routing straightforward to configure.
What Your Team Will Miss (and Alternatives)
Missive's collaborative drafting (co-writing emails in real time) has no direct equivalent in Converge. Instead, use AI reply suggestions for draft starting points and customer notes for discussion. Missive's task management is also absent — Converge focuses purely on conversation management. If your team relied heavily on tasks, keep a separate task tool.
