Export Your Data

Learn how to export your customer data, conversation history, and contacts from Userlike before migrating to a new platform.

How to Export Your Data from Userlike (Lime Connect)

Userlike — now rebranded as Lime Connect — provides GDPR-compliant data access features including conversation search, export, and permanent deletion. There is no single bulk "download everything" button, but the platform offers multiple paths depending on the data type and your plan tier.

Export Conversations

In the Message Center, use the conversation overview table with smart filtering to locate specific conversations by channel, topic, status, or date range. Lime Connect's GDPR data access features allow you to search, filter, and download conversation data. You can export individual conversations (including the full message history) or use bulk actions to select multiple conversations at once. Conversation transcripts are also available — customers can receive them automatically after a chat ends if you've enabled this feature.

Export Contact Data

Customer profiles in Lime Connect include names, email addresses, location data, conversation history, and any custom data fields you've configured (available from Team plan). The platform's Data Access feature — described in their privacy documentation — lets you search for, download, and delete contact data. This is accessible through the Message Center's contact profile panel. If you've collected data via the Website Messenger's registration mode (pre-chat forms), those fields are stored in the contact profile and included in exports.

API-Based Export (Plan-Dependent)

Lime Connect offers tiered API access: Messenger API (Team plan) for basic chat data retrieval, Analytics API (Corporate plan) for performance metrics, and JSON API plus Client Tracking API (Flex plan only) for full programmatic access. If you're on the Team or Corporate plan, your API options are limited — you may not be able to bulk-export all conversation data programmatically. On Flex, the JSON API provides the most comprehensive export capabilities.

Document Message Templates and Macros

Lime Connect's Message Templates (canned responses created with chat commands) and Macros cannot be bulk-exported. Manually copy each template's text content so you can recreate them as Quick Replies on your new platform. Also document any conversation topics you've set up for categorization — these map to tags on other platforms.

GDPR Data Request

As a German company with ISO 27001-certified servers hosted in Germany, Lime Connect takes GDPR seriously. You can submit a formal data access request through their support to receive a complete export of all personal data associated with your account. They also offer configurable automatic data deletion periods — check these settings before exporting so data isn't deleted before you've saved it.

Tip: Before canceling, note which channels are connected (WhatsApp numbers, Telegram bots, Messenger pages), your operator group structure, chat routing rules, and any Connect AI knowledge base content you've built. These configurations don't export — you'll need to recreate them on your new platform.
