Migrate All Messaging Channels
Part of the Userlike migration guide
Complete guide to migrating all your messaging channels (WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, etc.) from Userlike.
Migrating All Channels from Userlike (Lime Connect)
Lime Connect supports website chat (all plans), plus WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, SMS, email, and custom channels (Team plan and above). It does not support Discord or Zalo on any plan. Here's how to migrate each channel.
Website Messenger (Chat Widget)
Lime Connect's Website Messenger is embedded via an HTML snippet (JavaScript code) that you paste into your website. It supports registration mode (pre-chat forms), quick links (custom buttons), group select (department routing), and proactive chat (engaging visitors based on behavior). To migrate: remove the Lime Connect snippet from your HTML, then install your new platform's chat widget code. If you use a CMS, you may have installed it through a plugin — deactivate the Lime Connect integration and activate your new platform's equivalent. Note: Lime Connect's widget features like click-to-chat buttons for messaging apps (WhatsApp, Telegram shortcuts in the widget) won't carry over automatically.
Available from Team (2 numbers) and Corporate (4 numbers). Uses the WhatsApp Cloud API. See the dedicated WhatsApp migration guide for the full disconnect-reconnect process. Key consideration: if you used WhatsApp Campaigns, export your subscriber list before canceling.
Telegram
Lime Connect connects Telegram via a standard bot token. Disconnect the bot from Lime Connect, then connect the same bot token to your new platform. Only one platform can use a bot token at a time. Your Telegram bot's username, profile, and subscriber base remain intact — they're tied to Telegram's BotFather, not to Lime Connect.
Facebook Messenger and Instagram
Both connect through Meta OAuth. Disconnect from Lime Connect's channel settings, then reconnect the same Facebook pages and Instagram accounts to your new platform. Page followers, business verification, and page settings remain intact. Each reconnection takes 2-3 minutes.
SMS
Lime Connect supports SMS as a messaging channel. If you're using SMS, check which provider (Twilio, etc.) handles the routing. You may need to update webhook URLs to point to your new platform. Note: not all messaging platforms support SMS natively — verify this channel is available on your target platform before migrating.
Channels Lime Connect Doesn't Support
Lime Connect has no native Discord support and no Zalo support on any plan. If your customers use these platforms, switching to a platform with native support opens new channels without workarounds. Discord connects via a bot token (2 minutes to set up) and Zalo via OAuth — these are net-new channels you gain by switching, not channels you need to migrate.
Migration order: Start with your lowest-volume channel. Migrate the website widget and Telegram first (quick swap, low risk). Save WhatsApp and email for last — they typically carry the most traffic and have the highest impact if something goes wrong during the switch.
