Moving WhatsApp Business from Zoho SalesIQ

Zoho SalesIQ connects to WhatsApp via the Meta Cloud API. Your WhatsApp Business number, verified status, and message templates are tied to your Meta Business Manager account — not to SalesIQ — so they carry over when you switch platforms.

Step 1: Check Your Current WhatsApp Setup

In SalesIQ, go to Settings > Messaging Channels > WhatsApp to see your connected WhatsApp Business number and which department it's assigned to. Note your phone number and Meta Business Manager account ID — you'll need these when reconnecting to a new platform.

Step 2: Disconnect from SalesIQ

Remove the WhatsApp integration from SalesIQ by going to Settings > Messaging Channels > WhatsApp and deleting the channel. If SalesIQ was set up as your WhatsApp BSP (Business Solution Provider), you may need to disable two-factor authentication on the WABA first, then release the number. Your Meta Business Manager admin can do this from the WhatsApp Manager section.

Step 3: Connect to Your New Platform

Use your new platform's WhatsApp OAuth flow to reconnect the same number. The verification and business status carry over since they're stored in Meta's system, not SalesIQ's. The connection process typically takes 2-5 minutes.

Step 4: Recreate Message Templates

WhatsApp message templates (for proactive outreach) are stored in Meta Business Manager. They remain available regardless of which platform you connect. However, any SalesIQ-specific auto-reply flows that triggered on WhatsApp messages will need to be recreated in your new platform.

Important: Plan the switchover during low-traffic hours. There's a brief gap (minutes to a few hours) between disconnecting from SalesIQ and connecting to the new platform where incoming WhatsApp messages won't be routed to any inbox.
