How to migrate your email support workflows, templates, and history from Mevrik without losing data.
Migrating Email Support from Mevrik
Mevrik handles email through its Unified Inbox, consolidating multiple email accounts with AI-assisted features like smart compose, intelligent routing, and spam filtering. Migrating your email support means redirecting your inbound email flow and recreating your response workflows.
How Mevrik Handles Email
Mevrik's email solution connects multiple email accounts into a single unified inbox. Features include intelligent email routing (assigning emails to the right agent automatically), smart compose (AI-assisted reply drafting), internal notes on email threads, auto customer segmentation based on email content, topic identification, tagging, canned responses, and AI-based spam filtering. The email channel is available on all plans as part of the "Communication Across Social, Website & Email" feature set.
Step 1: Document Your Email Configuration
In your Mevrik dashboard, go to the Channels or Settings section to list all connected email accounts. Note: which email addresses are connected, how they're connected (OAuth, forwarding, or SMTP), which intelligent routing rules direct emails to specific agents or teams, and any canned responses your team uses regularly for email replies. Also document your email-specific CSAT survey settings if you've configured satisfaction ratings for email interactions.
Step 2: Disconnect Email from Mevrik
Remove email integrations from your Mevrik account. If your email was connected via OAuth (e.g., Gmail or Office 365), disconnect the integration in Mevrik's settings and revoke Mevrik's access in your email provider's app permissions. If connected via email forwarding, remove the forwarding rule in your email provider's settings — otherwise emails will continue routing to Mevrik's inactive address even after you cancel the account.
Step 3: Connect Email to Your New Platform
Set up email on your new platform using their supported connection method. Options typically include Gmail integration (via OAuth or service account), custom domain email (via Mailgun or similar inbound routing), or standard email forwarding. If you use a custom support domain (e.g., [email protected]), DNS changes like MX record updates may take up to 48 hours to propagate fully.
Step 4: Recreate Email Templates and Workflows
Mevrik's canned responses and smart compose suggestions won't transfer. Copy each canned response manually and recreate them as Quick Replies or equivalent templates on your new platform. If you relied on Mevrik's AI-powered smart compose for drafting replies, your new platform's AI reply suggestions will serve a similar purpose. Recreate any tagging rules and routing logic you had configured for email conversations.
Note: Resolve open email conversations in Mevrik before switching, or keep Mevrik active for a transition period while routing new emails to your new platform. Email threads that were mid-conversation in Mevrik won't appear in your new platform.
