Migration Guide for Agencies

Part of the Deskpro migration guide

How agencies managing multiple clients can migrate from Deskpro to a more cost-effective platform.

Agency Migration from Deskpro

Deskpro's multi-brand feature lets agencies manage multiple clients from a single account — the Team plan includes 3 brands, Professional allows 10, and Enterprise offers unlimited brands with custom domains and theme customization per brand. Per-agent pricing across clients makes Deskpro expensive for agencies at scale.

Cost at Agency Scale

Deskpro charges per agent regardless of how many brands you manage. An agency with 10 agents on the Team plan handling 3 client brands: 10 × $39 = $390/month. If you need more than 3 brands, you must upgrade to Professional: 10 × $59 = $590/month (with a minimum of 10 agents). For 10+ brands on Enterprise: minimum 25 agents × $99 = $2,475/month. With a flat-rate platform at $49/month per client account, 5 clients cost $245/month total — significantly less than any Deskpro tier for the same coverage.

Multi-Brand vs Separate Accounts

Deskpro's multi-brand feature lets you run 3-unlimited brands from a single account (depending on plan), each with its own Help Center, custom domain, ticket forms, and branding. Agents can work across all brands from one interface. When migrating, you have a choice: keep clients in one account (if your new platform supports workspaces) or set up each client as a separate account. Separate accounts provide stronger data isolation — each client's conversations, contacts, and analytics are completely siloed with no risk of cross-contamination.

Client-by-Client Migration Strategy

Migrate your smallest or most flexible client first. Set up their new account, connect their channels (website widget, WhatsApp, Messenger, email), invite their dedicated agents, and run both platforms for 1-2 weeks. Once stable, move to the next client. This limits risk and lets your team learn the new platform on a low-stakes client before migrating larger accounts.

What Agencies Lose from Deskpro

The main loss is unified multi-brand admin: Deskpro lets you manage all clients from one admin panel with cross-brand reporting, shared agent pools (Professional+ with Multi-Account), and consistent Help Center theming. Separate accounts on other platforms mean logging into each client's account individually. You also lose Deskpro's built-in voice channel and multi-brand Help Centers with custom templates. If you use the white-labeling feature (remove "Powered by Deskpro," available on Professional+), verify your new platform offers similar branding control.

Note: Some agencies maintain Deskpro for their largest enterprise client (where multi-brand, voice, and Help Center features are critical) and switch smaller clients to flat-rate messaging platforms. This hybrid approach reduces costs where Deskpro's enterprise features aren't needed.
