Compare Pricing Before Switching
Part of the Trengo migration guide
Compare Trengo's per-seat pricing against flat-rate alternatives to understand the real cost of switching.
Trengo Pricing: What You Actually Pay
Trengo uses a usage-based pricing model with conversation caps on every plan. The Boost plan starts at €299/month (~$325) for up to 10 users with just 500 conversations per month. Exceeding that cap triggers overage fees that can push your actual bill well beyond the listed price.
Plan Breakdown
Boost (€299/mo annual, €349/mo monthly): Up to 10 users, 6,000 conversations/year (~500/month), multi-channel inbox, basic Flowbot, CSAT surveys. No API access, no custom channels. Pro (€499/mo annual, €599/mo monthly): Up to 20 users, 18,000 conversations/year (~1,500/month), advanced AI HelpMate, custom channels via API, Zapier and Make integrations. Enterprise: Custom pricing for unlimited users and custom conversation volumes.
Hidden Costs That Add Up
Conversation overages: Every plan has a hard conversation cap. Exceeding 500/month on Boost or 1,500/month on Pro triggers per-conversation overage charges. A busy month during holiday season or a product launch can spike costs unpredictably. Voice add-on: Phone support isn't included in any plan — it's a separate paid add-on with its own per-minute or per-user pricing. AI surcharges: Heavy usage of AI HelpMate on the Pro plan may incur additional charges beyond the base price. Annual lock-in: The advertised €299/€499 prices require 12-month annual billing. Monthly billing is €349/€599 — roughly 17% more.
Real Cost Scenarios
A 5-person team on Boost: €299/month base, but if you hit 800 conversations in a month, overage fees push the real cost higher. Need the API to integrate with your tools? That forces an upgrade to Pro at €499/month — a €200/month jump. Need voice support? Add another monthly fee on top. A team of 5 on Pro with voice can easily pay €600+/month (~$650+). With Converge at $49/month flat for up to 15 agents and unlimited conversations, that same team saves over $7,200 per year.
Feature Gating Between Plans
The gap between Boost and Pro is significant. Boost lacks: API access (no custom integrations), custom channels, advanced AI HelpMate features, Zapier/Make integrations, and priority support. Many teams discover these limitations only after signing up for Boost, forcing an upgrade that nearly doubles the monthly bill. There is no mid-tier option between €299 and €499.
