Migrate All Messaging Channels

Complete guide to migrating all your messaging channels (WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, etc.) from HubSpot Service Hub.

Migrating All Channels from HubSpot Service Hub

HubSpot Service Hub natively supports email, live chat (web widget), Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp (Professional+ only), forms, and calling in its Help Desk. Telegram, WeChat, LINE, Viber, and Slack are available through the Custom Channels API and marketplace apps — not as native integrations. HubSpot has no support for Discord or Zalo.

Live Chat Widget

HubSpot's live chat widget is embedded on your website via a tracking code snippet or CMS integration. To migrate, remove the HubSpot tracking code from your site and install your new platform's chat widget. If you used HubSpot's chatbot (chatflows), document the bot logic — greeting messages, qualification questions, routing rules — and recreate them in your new platform. HubSpot's chatflows don't export as a reusable format.

Facebook Messenger

Messenger connects through your Facebook Business Page via Meta OAuth. In HubSpot, go to Settings > Inbox & Help Desk > Help Desk > Channels, hover over the Messenger channel, and disconnect. Then connect the same Facebook Page to your new platform. Your page, followers, and Facebook settings remain intact. You need admin permissions on the Facebook Page for both the disconnect and reconnect steps.

WhatsApp (Professional/Enterprise Only)

WhatsApp is only available on Service Hub Professional ($90/seat/mo) or Enterprise plans. If you're on Starter or Free, you don't have a WhatsApp channel to migrate. For Pro/Enterprise users, see the dedicated WhatsApp migration guide for step-by-step instructions.

Custom Channel Apps (Telegram, WeChat, LINE)

If you installed marketplace apps for Telegram, WeChat, LINE, or Viber, these are third-party integrations using HubSpot's Custom Channels API — not native connections. Uninstall the marketplace app from HubSpot, then connect the same channel natively on your new platform. Converge supports Telegram natively via bot token (setup takes 2 minutes), which is simpler than maintaining a marketplace app integration.

Channels HubSpot Doesn't Support

HubSpot has no integration — native or marketplace — for Discord or Zalo. If your customers use these platforms, switching to a platform with native support unlocks entirely new communication channels. Discord connects via bot token and app ID (2 minutes), Zalo via OAuth with PKCE flow or QR code login. Both are native integrations that don't require third-party apps or API development.

Migration order: Start with your lowest-volume channel (typically a form channel or calling) to validate the setup. Migrate your live chat widget next since it's a simple code swap. Save email and WhatsApp for last — they carry the most risk if something goes wrong during the transition.
