Complete guide to migrating all your messaging channels (WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, etc.) from HappyFox.

Migrating All Channels from HappyFox

HappyFox supports email, phone (via Aircall/RingCentral integrations), WhatsApp (via Twilio), Twitter/X, Facebook, and its own live chat widget (separate product). It does not natively support Telegram, Discord, Instagram DMs, or Zalo. Here's how to migrate each channel and what new channels you gain by switching.

Email (All Plans)

HappyFox supports unlimited email mailboxes via forwarding. Update your forwarding rules or MX records to point to your new platform. If you use DKIM-signed outgoing emails with a custom domain, configure the same domain authentication in your new platform. Each HappyFox category that receives email corresponds to a separate routing destination — map these to your new platform's inbox organization.

WhatsApp (Via Twilio)

HappyFox's WhatsApp connection runs through Twilio, not the direct Meta API. To migrate, disconnect from Twilio in HappyFox, release the number from Twilio's BSP if moving to a native WhatsApp platform, then connect via your new platform's OAuth flow. Your verified business status stays intact in Meta Business Manager. See the WhatsApp migration guide for detailed steps.

Twitter/X and Facebook

HappyFox integrates with Twitter/X for social mentions and Facebook for page messages. Disconnect these integrations in HappyFox's Manage >> Integrations panel, then reconnect the same accounts in your new platform via OAuth. Your Twitter and Facebook page credentials remain in their respective platforms — you're just changing which support tool receives the webhooks.

Live Chat Widget (Separate Product)

If you're using HappyFox Chat (their separate live chat product), you'll replace the HappyFox Chat widget embed code on your website with your new platform's chat widget. The widget is typically a JavaScript snippet in your site's header — swap the old snippet for the new one. If you use Google Tag Manager, update the custom HTML tag. Any HappyFox Chatbot flows you've built will need to be recreated as they don't export.

Phone (Via Aircall/RingCentral)

HappyFox supports phone integrations through Aircall, RingCentral, JustCall, and other third-party VoIP providers. These integrations create tickets from calls. If your new platform doesn't include native phone support, you can keep your VoIP provider running independently while routing other channels through the new inbox.

Channels You'll Gain

HappyFox doesn't support Telegram, Discord, Instagram DMs, or Zalo. If your customers use these channels, switching to a platform with native support opens communication paths that were previously unavailable. Telegram and Discord are particularly popular with tech-savvy audiences and communities; Zalo is essential for businesses operating in Vietnam.

Migration order recommendation: Start with your lowest-volume channel to verify the connection works, then migrate high-traffic channels (usually email and WhatsApp) during a planned low-activity window.
