Migrate All Messaging Channels
Part of the Comm100 migration guide
Complete guide to migrating all your messaging channels (WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, etc.) from Comm100.
Migrating All Channels from Comm100
Comm100 supports 12 messaging channels through its Ticketing & Messaging product: Email, SMS, Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), Telegram, WhatsApp, LINE, Signal, WeChat, Comm100 Anytime Chat, and live chat via its website widget. Discord and Zalo are not supported.
Live Chat Widget
Comm100's live chat widget is installed via a JavaScript snippet or through plugins for WordPress, Shopify, and Drupal. To migrate, remove the Comm100 embed code from your website (or uninstall the CMS plugin) and replace it with your new platform's widget. If you used Comm100's extensive widget customization (custom CSS, chat button styles, proactive chat campaigns), document those settings to replicate the look and feel.
Social Channels (Facebook, Instagram, X)
Facebook and Instagram connect via Meta OAuth through your business pages. X (Twitter) connects through its API. Disconnect each from Comm100's Ticketing & Messaging channel settings, then reconnect the same accounts to your new platform. Your page followers, post history, and verified status remain unchanged — they're tied to the social platforms, not to Comm100.
Messaging Apps (Telegram, WhatsApp, LINE, Signal, WeChat)
Telegram uses a bot token from BotFather — you can reuse the same token or generate a new one. WhatsApp connects via Meta's Cloud API (see the WhatsApp migration guide for details). LINE, Signal, and WeChat each have their own connection methods. Disconnect from Comm100 first, then reconnect to your new platform. Check whether your new platform supports all the messaging apps you currently use — not all platforms cover LINE, Signal, or WeChat.
SMS
Comm100 supports SMS through integrations with Twilio, Telnyx, and MMDSmart. Your SMS provider account and phone numbers are independent of Comm100. Disconnect the SMS integration from Comm100, then configure the same provider with your new platform. If your new platform has its own SMS handling, you may be able to simplify your setup.
New Channel Opportunities
Switching platforms can open access to channels Comm100 doesn't support. Discord (for community-driven support and gaming/crypto businesses) and Zalo (essential for businesses in Vietnam) are not available in Comm100. If your customers use these channels, a platform with native support gives you coverage Comm100 can't provide.
Migration order tip: Start with your lowest-volume channel to test the connection process and verify messages flow correctly. Then migrate high-traffic channels like WhatsApp and Facebook last, during off-peak hours.
