Compare Pricing Before Switching
Part of the Drift migration guide
Compare Drift's per-seat pricing against flat-rate alternatives to understand the real cost of switching.
Drift Pricing: What You Actually Pay
Drift's Premium plan starts at $2,500/month with a required annual contract ($30,000/year minimum). Drift does not publish pricing publicly — the pricing page redirects to Salesloft (which acquired Drift in February 2024). All pricing requires a custom quote via demo.
Plan Breakdown
Premium (~$2,500/month): Live chat, email fallback, meeting scheduling, basic playbooks (bot workflows), and conversation reporting. Includes Salesforce and HubSpot integrations. Advanced (~$40,000/year or ~$3,333/month): Everything in Premium plus pipeline conversion tools, AI-driven forecasting, advanced bot builder, and opportunity tracking. Enterprise (custom pricing, typically $10,000+/month): Everything in Advanced plus custom integrations, dedicated support, and advanced security. Annual licenses for Enterprise often start around $30,000.
Hidden and Additional Costs
Beyond the base subscription: additional user seats may incur extra fees depending on your contract terms. AI credits for conversational AI features may be metered separately. Implementation and onboarding assistance often requires professional services engagement, which is not included in the license fee. Some businesses report total first-year costs of $10,000–$30,000+ for smaller deployments and $50,000–$150,000 for enterprise rollouts once implementation, training, and add-ons are factored in.
Annual Contract Lock-In
All Drift plans require annual contracts. There is no month-to-month option. If your needs change mid-year or you want to switch platforms, you're committed until the contract expires. Cancellation terms and early termination fees vary by contract — check your specific agreement. With a flat-rate platform like Converge at $49/month for up to 15 agents and no annual commitment, your team can start and stop at any time without contractual risk.
What $2,500/Month Buys (and Doesn't)
At $2,500/month, Drift's Premium plan covers website live chat, email marketing tools, meeting scheduling, and basic chatbot playbooks. What it does not include: native WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, Instagram, Discord, or Zalo support. Drift is fundamentally a website chat and email marketing tool, not an omnichannel messaging inbox. If your customers contact you via messaging apps, you'd need to add those channels through third-party tools at additional cost.
The Salesloft Acquisition Factor
Salesloft acquired Drift in February 2024, integrating it into their broader "Revenue Orchestration Platform." Drift's pricing page now redirects to Salesloft, and product roadmap priorities are controlled by Salesloft. In September 2025, a security breach via compromised Drift OAuth tokens affected over 700 organizations, leading Salesloft to temporarily take Drift offline. If you're evaluating long-term platform stability, consider that Drift's future direction is tied to Salesloft's broader strategy — it may shift further toward sales automation rather than improving standalone customer communication capabilities.
